SOMETHING GOOD CAN WORK

I spent the evening destressing from work by looking at photos from last year & reorganizing computer files. Boy oh boy, do I miss summer something fierce! Tennessee hasn't had much of a winter this year & it's not looking like it's ever really going to come. I'm over these mediocre temperatures & ready for spring.

Ready for some change in general. The only downside to the new year is that it comes in the middle of winter when you're feeling the least motivated. I swear I could sleep for 30 days & not feel an ounce of guilt. However, I make the decision to roll out of bed every morning & accomplish what I can. This week has been one of the more stressful ones - both good & bad. I'm thankful to have a job that I love, where I feel encouraged & appreciated. Working for a family owned Harley business is really a dream come true! Inventory week is a week straight from hell though no matter who you work for. I'll be a happy lady when Sunday evening arrives & I can wash my hands clean of this task...& drink a large margarita.

I'm also incredibly thankful for my three best gal pals. We enjoyed a home-cooked Mexican feast last night after work. I had every intention of snapping a few photos but all I got was a photo of some peppers.

Those are some pretty good looking peppers though, am I right!?

I've been extremely surprised but very welcoming of all the challenging questions and opposing opinions. OH, CHRISTMAS TREE

This past week was packed with social outings with all my besties. Tuesday was spent at the boys' house for their Christmas Sweater Party. In true Lindsey fashion, I dressed as a Christmas tree in a Betsey Johnson dress & Anthropologie sweater because let's face it...I don't own a tacky Christmas sweater & couldn't find the time to go purchase one.

The rest of the week was a blur. Too many shows and bars to name. My friend, Andy, and I did manage to see Hall & Oates at The Ryman thanks to an early Christmas gift from my parents. We had such a good time! I still can't believe I got to see them live. They've been my favorite band for so long. What a treat!

Tonight I'll be decorating the house for Christmas with my roomies. We've got a big dinner planned so we can all get caught up on each other's lives. It's funny living with two of your bestfriends and still rarely having time to actually see one another. Such is life! I'm just thankful to have them in my life. :)

Twenty-Four

My beautiful best friend, Kayla, turned 24 this past weekend. We celebrated with a night out to Virago for expensive sushi & wine. Then on Saturday, a Bros & Hoes themed party with tons of friends. The costumes were laughable & I think it might have been Kayla's best birthday yet!

Now I'm gearing up for Thanksgiving. My parents & I (yes, I plan on helping) will be making dinner for 11 of our friends. But first my dad & I will be waking up extra early to eat breakfast & watch the Macy's Parade together. My favorite holiday tradition. :) Can't wait! Hope everyone has a lovely day with friends or family!

They're heeeere..!

Where do I even begin...!? October flew by in the blink of an eye. It seems to do that every year. So on this day forward, I will now consider November to be my favorite month. Let's be honest, the weather is much better & jellooo? Do I even need to mention Thanksgiving?

Halloween was a hoot. I wore no less than three costumes that weekend. One which included my very favorite costume of all time. Carol Anne from Poltergeist. & yes, that would be Baley dressed up as a television. My television. "They're here!"

I have about 3,000 photos from that night but I won't torture you with the monotony of party pics. They're mostly just photos of me fist pumping my baby doll into the air. I was having a good time.

I am very much looking forward to this month. Lots of goals set for myself & Christmas is right around the corner! I spent the day decorating for Christmas at the shop today. See?

FALL FOLLIES

I know this next statement isn't very bold or original but...

I am L-O-V-I-N-G this weather lately! & I am so happy that I've been able to really enjoy it. Fall has arrived & I have a sneaky feeling that winter is close behind, which makes me so happy! I've been wearing my leather jacket, a scarf & boots all weekend.

I spent yesterday at Centennial Park with friends at the Cultural Festival enjoying the pretty sunshine. That evening I went to my dear friend Alli's new tattoo studio in Downtown Franklin, Chrome Halo. The tattoo shop is unlike any other I've ever been to (or heard of!)! So many wonderful things will happen there & I could not be more proud of my girl. Alli is my bestfriend's little sister. It's been such a treat getting to watch her grow up & find her footing in the tattoo industry.

Yes. There was chocolate covered bacon.

Today will be spent with my bestie, Lauren. We are going to a farm that some of our friends work at for a Fall festival.

On another note. I went to the filming of Justin Bieber's new music video. I'm not even ashamed to admit it. I saw the Biebs in the flesh.

The lack of posts around here isn't due to the lack of adventure. These past few weeks have been packed full of summer fun with my bests. I have a couple of posts scheduled about my birthday beach trip but I couldn't hold off on posting all of these hilarious photos from last night. We're still working on the internet situation at our house which is why this place has been so quiet!

The girls & I had a party at our new house in Nashville to celebrate my 23rd birthday & invite friends to see our humble abode. The theme was Cowboys & Indians. We decided to keep it interesting & add the option of dressing up as an alien. The outcome was laughable.

The house was packed with so many new & old faces. Best birthday yet.

On Friday night, we celebrated Lauren's 23rd birthday...ITALIAN style!

I swear we were campaigning for No Carb Left Behind. How do the Italians do it!?

We consumed large amounts of pasta, bread, cheese, & wine. LOTS of wine. It was the most deeeelicious party I've ever been to.

& then we boogied.

American rain, American rain

The 4th of July was pretty perfect. My day was spent at the mall window shopping while waiting for my lovely new Ray Bans. I somehow scratched the lenses of the pair that I've been recently wearing. It cost less to just buy new ones so that's exactly what I did. I went with the new wayfarers. Big, black & round! Love.

The evening was spent at Logan's for a little American get together. Beer, hot dogs, & lots of new faces. We headed downtown to watch fireworks & enjoyed each others company at the end of the night. Sadly, a very close friend of Logan's was in a bad bicycle accident while on her way to the firework show. She'll probably be in the hospital for a bit so my thoughts are with her & fingers are crossed for a fast recovery. It's amazing how quickly your circumstances can change - for good or bad. Accidents happen but boy, I wish they didn't. <3

A Word On : GIRLFRIENDS

A Word On : Girlfriends (my girlfriends)

I truly believe that girlfriends are the salt of the earth. The bee's knees. The cat's pajamas.

I consider the women in my life to be my soulmates. A romantic love will never replace the love that I get from my girlfriends. A man's love will never trump the love that these ladies have for me.

& vice versa. These women are the loves of my life. & what a better thing to do than introduce a few of them to you since you'll be seeing alot of their faces this summer.

Lauren. My dear Lauren. Every August we celebrate another year of being bestfriends. We met in 5th grade when we signed up to do a 3 legged race together for Field Day. I used to write about Lauren in my diary. I wanted so badly for her to like me because I thought she was cool. & I was right. We're on year 13 of bestfriendship. I call her the original hipster. She's a minimalist. A floater. The hippie of the group. Her record collection trumps your grandpa's. She's seen more of Europe than I'll ever dream of seeing. She has the biggest heart & a fire inside of her that will never die. She'll probably live to be a 110 & I can't wait to grow old with her.

Kayla...or Kay as she is better known. Kayla is me. Me if I were trapped in the body of a Ralph Lauren wearing, Burberry obsessed, blonde bombshell. She is the smartest girl I know & somehow still manages to question everything because she has to know everything. I laugh more with her than with anyone. She is my other half, if such a thing existed. Where I fail, she succeeds. What I question, she has the answers for. She is so much alike me in mind & spirit, yet we're complete opposites on the outside. Funny how that works.

Shanda. She's my wing man. The artist of the group and jokingly, the pessimist. She's real. & loves real talk. She's not afraid to tell you what's up & bring you back to Earth. & let's be honest...my thoughts are rarely on earth. We question when we became friends exactly, but my first memory of Shanda is in 2nd grade. We attended a pool party together. She wore two swimsuits because she's a swimmer & that's what they do. (We wonder about that now...). She's got a bangin' body & an amazing eye for art. She studied print making in college. Hello, jealous much? I am.

The four of us have been bestfriends for half of our lives (if not more in the case of Shanda & I). I realize how truly blessed I am every time the four of us are together. We have been through absolutely everything together.

I have many other amazing girls in my life. I could go on forever but this post would be hours long! I imagine I'll have about 10 bridesmaids at my wedding. I consider myself to be one of the lucky ones.
