what I wore

dress - francescas; belt - target; boots - steve madden

I didn't plan on posting again until tomorrow. But lo & behold...here I am! If pale skin isn't really your thing, I suggest you just skip these 'What I Wore' posts for the next six months. The weather is getting warmer which means no more tights! Unfortunately, for you, that means getting to see my ghostly skin, which doesn't really change much over the summer. I'm not much of a tanner & I can't say I really enjoy being outside in these Tennessee summers. However, I do love spring & plan on taking full advantage of it this year. So maybe my skin will get a little sun. Maybe.

I have a confession. This dress is my most favorite purchase in a long time. That means I like to wear this dress. ALOT. I wore it out last night to meet some girlfriends at this great new wine bar in downtown Franklin called JJ's Wine Bar (& then I wore the dress to work today). If you're a fan of self-service ice cream places like Sweet Cece's, but prefer somewhere less kid friendly, than JJ's is the place for you. You're given a card which tracks your purchases, & you basically walk around tasting wine out of these self-serve machines that dispense wine. You can choose to taste the wine, or have a half-glass pour or full-glass pour. It's an ingenius idea! They have lots of wine to choose from that ranges from very low-priced to very, very high. The staff was super friendly too. I'll admit, I think those boys were just excited to see a few pretty, young things in there since downtown Franklin isn't really bumpin' with 20-somethings on a Friday night. ;)

I'm having a little get together tomorrow with some friends for wine, games, & good conversation. Hopefully we'll remember to snap a few photos!

Increase the Peace

This past weekend was full of new adventures. The lady friends & I enjoyed dinner at Burger Up. It was our first time there since it opened in May of 2010. I can honestly say, it was the best burger I have ever had. Which says alot being that I've been to some pretty good burger joints across the states (Vortex, anyone?). I enjoyed my burger slathered in guacamole & topped with bacon, with a side of truffle fries. There really is nothing better than guacamole or bacon...or truffle fries.

After dinner we found ourselves at 12 South Taproom, a great place for a beer (or glass of wine). We had actually never been there either. I was impressed that we tried two new places in one night. Cheers to a new year & finding new venues to enjoy ourselves!

Tonight is the much anticipated Way Late Play Date at the Adventure Science Center. I have been waiting for MONTHS. You basically pay $10 to eat, drink alcohol, & gain access to the entire center. ADULTS ONLY. Can you believe that such a thing exists!? I am overly excited.
Expect lots of photos tomorrow...

Birth Day

Yesterday's was Shanda's birthday. We have been friends since we were six and have celebrated many, many birthdays together. I was particularly excited about celebrating this year because we decided to try a new restaurant that we had never been to before. We rarely do this since we are all so stuck on our favorites (like PM, PF Changs & J. Alexanders). So, this year we chose City House as our celebratory spot. We (as in Shanda, myself, & all our best girlfriends) enjoyed large helpings of gnocchi & pasta, sparkling cocktails, & really yummy desserts. We continued the fun the next night at Whiskey Kitchen. Of course, many grainy photos we're taken via iphone.

I've been overwhelmingly busy lately. I'm fully committed to getting a little more focused this week though. I've got another full week of work but I am determined to squeeze in atleast 4 days at the gym & hopefully a creative project of some sort. I've also got a few features & alot more content that I'll be adding to the blog this month, which I'm very excited about.

January is all about new beginnings.
I'm ready to get this show on the road!
